Review: Eleanor and Grey by Brittainy C. Cherry

Eleanor & Grey, an all-new beautiful and emotional standalone from Brittainy C. Cherry is available now! Greyson East left his mark on me. As the young girl who first fell for him, I didn’t know much about life. I did know about his smiles, though, and his laughs, and the strange way my stomach flipped when he was near. Life was perfect…until it wasn’t, and when we were forced to go our separate ways, I held on to our memories, let go of my first crush, and wished for the day I’d find him again. When my wish came true, it was nothing like I imagined. I couldn’t have known when I took the nanny position that it would be his children I looked after, that my new boss would be that boy I used to know, that boy who was now a man—a cold, lonely, detached man. The smile and laugh I had loved so much were gone, now distant memories. Every part of him was covered in a fresh pain. When he realized who I was, he made me promise to do my job and my job only. He made me promise not to try to ge...

The Secret

The End's Not Near, It's Here

I've started this post with several sentences, in several ways (funny, sincere, reflective, etc.), but it all comes back to this: Goodbye. After 6 years, thousands of followers, thousands of books, hundreds of posts, dozens of friends, 10 book conferences, and countless blog tours ... it's all over now. And there's just no easy way to sum that up in a witty starter sentence. I've struggled over the last year with closing down the blog, but I always kept trying to find a new way to get myself hyped up again to blog. The truth is, I don't think I have anything left to say. And that's OK. When I started this blog in February of 2011, I had no idea where that insane road would lead. I figured I'd make a few friends, get some free books, and blogging would be a fun little hobby. I never imagined it would lead to a secondary career as an event planner, let alone the countless friendships and connections I've made. It's been a crazy 6 years. I've seen b...

Brutally Honest Check In

So ... hey there. Remember me? I know, I know. It feels like it's been forever since I posted with any regularity. Or played on twitter. Or showed off a book on instagram. And I've spent the last several weeks - months , really - debating on sharing what's going on. But I've gotten a few questions and I know I've been seriously absent-minded lately, especially regarding blog tours so I feel like it's time to come clean. I'll try to keep this short and simple and to the point. Right before Thanksgiving, I started feeling ... off. Not quite myself. I spent the last year as a running joke with friends and family that I could never stay still. I was the girl with 6 jobs - full time job at a doctor's office, part time job at Ulta, blogging, blog tours, planning 2 book conferences, and trying to see my family and friends in my free seconds. The beginning of December, I ... lost it. Call it a nervous breakdown, call it a mental breakdown ... Whatever it was, I ...

RockStar PR & Literary: List

I posted a couple days ago about the nightmarish situation when RockStar PR & Literary Consulting attached a document to an email that in fact exposed the addresses and personal information of more than 250 bloggers. Since then myself and others have been asked, frequently, if their info was compromised. For more info about what happened, go here:  http://theirishbanana.blogspot.com/2016/08/rockstar-pr-literary-nightmare.html Here is a list of blogs that were listed in the spreadsheet: G READS! Rockstar PR & Literary Nightmare

First let's start with the facts, because I've gotten a lot of text messages and DMs about this since last night: 1. Yesterday, an email was sent from Rockstar PR & Literary Consulting to an undisclosed amount of bloggers to help promote a new Bella Forrest title. I actually deleted the email because I get a lot of emails daily from PR companies I don't know asking me to help promote a book/author for them. I don't have time for it. I don't. 2. At 8:54 PM last night, I received an email with the subject saying "My Apology for HUGE Error". Curious, I opened it and inside was an email from a publicist at Rockstar PR apologizing for sharing personal and sensitive information in a previous email that day. Of course, at this, I got curious, and dug the old email out of my trash bin and read it. It was a generic book pitch (the second I'd gotten about the same book from 2 different publicists at RPL that day, mind you) but at the bottom was an attach...

New Design!

Welcome to the new and improved Irish Banana Review! I am so freaking excited to debut the new look! I decided a few months ago I wanted to give this space a facelift of sorts and after seeing the work she did on one of my favorite blogs, No BS Book Reviews , and hearing from Stephanie what a dream she was to work with, I knew my top choice was Fran at Freeborboleta . Fran made this design process an absolute dream . It's uncanny the way she was able to fully realize what I had only dreamed about in my blog. I never thought it could look like this. She takes you step by step through the process to create a one-of-a-kind blog that is a total representation of the owner. This is me. Here's Fran's info for those who might want their own new look: Website:  http://www.freeborboleta.com/ Email:  fran@freeborboleta.com Twitter: http://twitter.com/freeborboleta So ... whatcha think?!
